Experience Laos First-Hand Before You Sell It: Why We Run FAM Trips

There is a moment on every FAM trip we host when a partner stops taking notes. It usually happens in a village, or on a river, or standing somewhere quiet that no brochure prepared them for. That moment is the whole point. It is the difference between an agent who can describe Laos and one who can sell it.

We run three FAM trips in 2026 for exactly that reason. We want partners who don’t pitch our country secondhand. We want partners who have been here.

A FAM trip is a sales tool, not a holiday

Let’s be honest about what a familiarization trip is for. It is not a perk. It is the most effective sales tool in our industry, because it replaces guesswork with memory. When a client asks your team, “What is northern Laos actually like?”, the answer should not come from a supplier sheet. It should come from the morning your consultant spent on the Nam Ou River, or the afternoon they walked the cave city at Viengxay.

A traveler can feel the difference in thirty seconds on a call. Conviction sells. Conviction comes from experience. That is what we put in front of you.

We travel every route before we offer it

We hold ourselves to the same standard we ask of you. Two to three times a year, our own team travels these corridors in full — the roads, the timing, the homes, the welcome — before we put them in any program. When you join one of our FAM trips, you are not testing an untried route. You are traveling a journey we already know by name, and learning it the way we learned it: on the ground.

This is why our FAM itineraries are real working routes, not showcase loops. You will sit where your guests will sit. You will judge the road timing, the accommodation, and the guiding for yourself. You leave able to answer the questions your clients actually ask

Three routes, three seasons, one country

Each 2026 FAM trip is a full nine-day hosted journey on a different corridor:

June — Southern & Central Laos.

Green season, when the Bolaven waterfalls run at full power. Kong Lor Cave, Savannakhet, the coffee and tribal loop, Wat Phou, and the 4,000 Islands. Built for nature, soft adventure, coffee tourism, and Cambodia extensions.

September — Northern Laos.
The Plain of Jars, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang, the Laos–China Railway, the Nam Ou cruise, and the Mekong boat journey from Pakbeng. Built for culture, soft adventure, and Indochina extensions.

October — Northeast Laos.
Dry, clear highland travel through the Sam Neua textile villages, the Viengxay caves, and the Nam Nern conservation reserve, closing in Luang Prabang. Built for textile, history, conservation, and specialist travel.

You choose the route that fits the product you want to build.

What we host, and what we ask

On the ground, you travel as our guest — accommodation, private transport, domestic flights and boats within the route, your Journey Host, entrances, and breakfasts are on us. You arrange your own international flights, insurance, and visa. We confirm the final terms when you apply.

In return, we ask for one thing: real intent to sell Laos. These trips are an investment on our side, and we host the partners who are here to build volume with us, not collect a free trip.

The relationship we’re actually building

We host a small group on each departure on purpose. We are not recruiting a crowd of resellers. We are looking for one trusted partner per source market — the agency or operator who becomes our name in their country. For that partner, the FAM trip is the beginning: trade rates, white-label programs and rate sheets, market exclusivity, priority on departures, and first access to new routes before anyone else sees them.

That is the offer. You see Laos the way we see it, and if the fit is right, we grow together for years rather than seasons.

Ready to see it before you sell it? Apply to join a 2026 FAM trip. Tell us your company, your source market, and which route fits your clients.
